Safe use of pesticides in Non Agriculture

This code of practice is designed to provide guidance on the safe use of pesticides, including herbicides, and the protection of the health of workers using pesticides with the aim of assisting users achieve a safe system of work.

The code is a lengthy detailed document supported by illustrations. The code introduces a risk management approach to the problem of pesticides and addresses step by step how the issue should be addressed.

The code introduces Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), their use and the obligations upon employers and manufacturers regarding their provision and content. It runs through safe decanting procedures, safe use, emergency procedures and first aid, labelling processes and health monitoring.
