This code of practice elaborates and explains the obligations placed on principal and sub contractors in the construction industry with regard to induction training.
Chapter 8 of the OHS Regulation 2001 sets out additional requirements for induction training in relation to the construction industry. The nature of a construction site is that it is every changing, and as such it is essential that people working on the site have a very good understanding of the hazards that exist and how to avoid harm from these hazards.
In the construction industry there are three types of OHS Induction Training:
- General health and safety induction training
- Work Activity based health and safety induction training and
- Site specific health and safety induction training.
Refer to this code of practice for the training requirements, record keeping requirements and an introduction to risk assessment.
