This Code of Practice came into force in Jannuary 1995. The code is designed to provide practical guidance to all parties in the workplace for the prevention, identification, assessment, and control of risks arising from loading, unloading and securing of logs to log haulage vehicles in workplaces.
The code sets parameters for work design and work methods to ensure the safety of workers. It details the placement of logs on haulage trucks and methods of securing the logs for transport.
The code covers the loading of logs, unloading of logs and securing of loads. It is supported by pictorial representations of methods for securing loads and operating plant.
