This code is aimed at providing safe procedures for the storage and handling of enzymatic detergent powders and liquids.
The code runs through some of the health effects associated with laundry detergents. In particular in details health effects from a range of exposures, such as
- Skin contact
- Ingestion and
- Inhalation
The code details protective and preventative measures that should be followed, such as the labelling of outer cartons, and the use of protective equipment for those handling the substances.
The code also specifies the procedure for major spills and first aid requirements.
For those using detergents, such as laundry employees, or those involved in the manufacture and/or packaging of detergents, this code is essential reading.
